Lady Red, so beautiful and pleasing
with that red dress cut short, teasing
my mind with visions of your silhouette;
Visions so vivid, I can't possibly forget
them in the near future.
I'm trying to reach you but know not how.
Perhaps I'll say something witty so as to allow
us to begin a pleasant conversation
and hope that when you make your observation
you won't take notice of how nervous I am.
"The detergents you're looking at are all the same."
Those were my first words, and though they were lame
you took notice of me and smiled the most beautiful smile;
A warm, sensational, beautiful smile.
I'm glad I took the chance.
You are warm and enchanting, personality-wise,
and your words are like music that can mesmerize
a crowd of thousands as if you were Mozart.
Now I stand unable to move because you've stolen my heart
with the breath of fresh air you've breathed into my life.
"Can I take you to dinner?" were the next words I said to you.
Your quick response suggested you wanted me to,
so we exchanged numbers and talked some more
that beautiful Sunday evening in the grocery store
where I met you.
I have no idea where this will lead.
But that's more information than I need
because wherever it does, it will be a fascinating ride.
And if, even just for a moment, I can be at your side,
I'll be forever grateful that I met you.
